Hey guys!! I can’t believe how long it’s been! Long story short, I was attempting to have my blog forwarded to a new site, but WordPress is struggling with that transition :o/ So, alas, I lost my access during that time.
Summer is in full swing. Turner has been in camp throughout the week and Gracie has been hanging at home with me, my mom, or our amazing babysitter. We’ve been going to the beach a ton, barbecuing, and soaking up every hot and sweaty minute with these babies!
The house renovation is coming right along! I feel like I hit my low point where I questioned every decision I’ve ever made in my life. Then after some friends talked me off the ledge, I bounced back into action mode. It’s gonna be great (gonna being the operative word). It’s just a long and tedious process! We’re finally past the grueling part of demo, removal, repair, etc. Now we’re at the point where we’re building, adding windows, purchasing cabinets, and all the fun parts I can have a hand in doing!
I’ll walk you through what we’ve done. We removed all of the walls on the right side of the first floor to make a huge open kitchen! We had to put support beams in the ceiling so our house wouldn’t collapse. Here’s the before and during:
To the left of the stairs, we took everything out so our living room flows into the dining room. The dining room will be surrounded by lots of windows and a double glass door opening to the backyard. Here’s the before and during!
Through the kitchen, we had a garage that we elevated to make into living space. That will be our mud room, play room, and office. We removed the ceiling so it would be a huge vaulted ceiling and it looks incredible! Here are some before and during shots.
Next steps will be installing windows, drywall, kitchen cabinets, and flooring! That should all go pretty quickly over the next few months. Hooray! Can’t even WAIT to be in this house!!
