Turner is finally starting to feel better after a week of snot sucking and crap naps. Stew is battling a sore throat, undoubtedly from Turner licking his fingers and shoving them in Stew’s mouth. And I am working my hardest to avoid getting whatever they have! We did, however, manage to enjoy our weekend despite the sniffly noses!
Friday night, Stew and I had our new members class at church. My mom came to babysit so we could turn it into a little date night. So we went downtown to Taco Boy for an early dinner. The class was actually a lot of fun. I love our pastor. It was nice getting to know him on a personal level. He’s amazing!
Saturday morning we had part two of our class. We finished up around lunchtime and came home to put Turner down for his nap. After nap time, we hit the beach. It was a quick, but much needed, trip. We haven’t been to the beach at all this summer! It’s really a crime when we live 5 minutes away. So, now that it’s almost September, we vowed to come to the beach every week, even if it’s for a quick jump in the ocean!
We had a blast at the beach. Turner LOVES going in the ocean. It was hard to get him out. He was not a happy camper when we left.
After we cleaned up and put Turner to bed, we had some friends over and just hung out. It was perfect. So relaxing and just what we needed. The wine didn’t hurt either.
Sunday morning, we went to church as usual. Then we actually met another couple we adore for brunch! Turner was so good. I was surprised because we were pushing into his nap time. But, honestly, when there’s food involved, Turner would do just about anything.
That night, we had Sunday Dinner at my mom’s. That’s always awesome. Turner loves going to Gigi and Paw Paw’s house. As soon as we pulled in, we were greeted by one of the ducks. Turner was so excited and started chasing him around.
We had quite a social weekend. Usually I like to spend the majority of my weekend in pajamas on the couch. Maybe it’s the “end of summer” threatening us, so we decided to live it up. Either way, it was great! I hope you’re enjoying your last days of summer too!
